Un CCIE mas en la empresa… Congratulations CESAR SALAS….

El post mas esperado por la gente de ITALTEL… nuestro querido amigo Cesar Vicente Salas Rimac, acaba de conseguir su CCIE de R&S, el popular “Magneto” .Su numero ganador  es el 45256…

Hemos sido testigos de su dedicacion y perseverancia. Un gran logro profesional bien obtenido.

Analizando los requerimientos para actualizar IOS en un Switch 6509E

Bueno…comenzamos con una chiquita…

Se necesita realizar el upgrade de IOS de un switch 6509E, aqui el requerimiento para el nuevo IOS:

ADVANCED ENT SERVICES SSH (MODULAR)

Size: 178504.81 KB (182788916 bytes)
Minimum Memory: DRAM:512MB   Flash:512MB 

Como verán se necesita de 512MB de DRAM y 512MB Flash.

Con un show version, obtenemos la siguiente información (resumida) de nuestro switch:

cisco WS-C6509-E (R7000) processor (revision 1.2) with 458720K/65536K bytes of memory.
1917K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
8192K bytes of packet buffer memory.

65536K bytes of Flash internal SIMM (Sector size 512K).

Como se observa, el switch cuenta con 512MB de DRAM (RP y SP DRAM)  y 64KB de Flash (RP Flash) ….Se cumple con los requerimientos de DRAM pero no de Flash…pero con un show version, solo podemos revisar las RP Flash y no la SP Flash..ademas la RP Flash no permite upgrade, la manera de aumentar la RP Flash es mediante el uso de un CF Card externo…

Verificando el tamaño de la SP Flash con un show file system:

Aquí observamos que la SP Flash (sup-bootflash) es de 64KB y las RP Flash (bootflash) es de 64KB. La SP Flash si permite el upgrade a través del siguiente kit WS-CF-UPG-1GB=, con esto la SP Flash se incrementa a 1GB.

Resumiendo, solo se necesita realizar el upgrade de la Flash (nosotros optamos por realizar el upgrade de la SP Flash)…

Retomando el Blog

Bueno después de mucho…mucho tiempo…retomo el blog…voy a tratar de postear mas seguido…me acabo de bajar el Writer de Microsoft para postear off-line y no tener que estar logueandome en el blogger.

En estos años ha pasado mucho en lo personal y profesional…ya no trabajo mas en Huawei…deje grandes profesionales en Huawei y lo que es mucho mejor..excelentes AMIGOS…..

Ya nació mi segundo bebe (Valentino Matteo) y mi hijito Dirceu esta mas que feliz..lo quiere mucho….

En algunos post….pidieron que posteara mas seguido y sobre todo temas técnicos…y eso tratare de hacer…para eso nació este blog…

Ahora me encuentro laborando en ITALTEL..un partner de CISCO..y bueno …estoy retomando el camino …he vuelto a ver la luz….

Por fin obtuve mi certificación CCIP, y bueno espero poder dar el CCIE de R&S escrito este año.

Bueno .es hora de hacer dormir a mi hijito…mañana empieza lo bueno..tuve una para de 3 días por descanso medico que me han servido para recargar las pilas…

CONFIRMADO ...El CCIE 25093 ES PERUANO....

Hi guys,

I’ve just received “the email” with my number: 25093. I took the exam yesterday in Sao Paulo and I passed in my second attempt. For my first attempt I used Narbik’s workbook (this is an excellent Workbook) and an older copy of IE v4.1 vol 1. I did some full labs too. Unfortunately during the exam I got stuck in some no-core questions… I didn’t enough time for verification. But the learned lessons from my first attempt were: I can do it! The exam is not very difficult, be calm, be patient, no panic, be careful with wording… My first attempt was in May (RTP), the next day after I received my failed score report, I scheduled for Aug in Sao Paulo. For my second attempt I bought IE5 vol 1. During May, June and July I reviewed all Cisco DOC (it’s very important to know where is each topic in Cisco DOC) and IE5 vol 1. Thank INE the IEWB1 is an excellent resource… the groupstudy archives is fantastic… probably each question that you have, in the archives is the solution. My Cisco career is progressive I started from CCNA, CCNP, CCIP and finally CCIE. After pass I can say: I got it! I did it! First of all thanks to God, thanks to every people that support me during my preparation, all my family (my mother, my sister, etc….) in my job, my boss, my mates, my friends… thanks to all.. Mañana es el dia.....un CCIE mas para PERU ....ARRIBA PERU....

Tal como comentaron en el blog , Peru ya cuenta con un CCIE en Security , el Sr Marco Morales - aka - Soulse , actualemente laborando en Cisco PERU.El seria el 4to CCIE en el PERU.

Y hoy me entere que ya son 5 los CCIEs en el PERU , Willy Meier de las filas de IMPSAT , es el 5to CCIE , y segun me comentaron laborando actualemente en Cisco PERU.

Passed CCIE R&SW Lab yesterday - RTP

Hi all,
I wanted to say thanks for everyone on this list. I think, it’s a very helful tool before take the ccie lab exam. I passed the lab on my first attempt yesterday on RTP and I wanted to give my advices:- Don’t be nervous during the lab, see it as it would be a game. - Ask the proctor for every doubt you have. - Try to draw everything (IPv4, IPv6, Multicast, BGP). It can help you to see something that you missed. - If you have just an extra hour to the end of the exam and you haven’t finish the exam (you leave 1 or 2 questions). Check the parts you completed first and then go back to the extra points. Always there are things that you did that change the first topics of the exam, reviewing the exam you can avoid to lose that points.
